IIITH Library Utilization and Maintenance Policy

The IIIT Hyderabad Library is the heart of the Academic and Research Programmes of the Institute. All students, Faculty members and staff of the institute are entitled to make use of the Library Facilities. The library is automated and enable with RFID technology by using LIBSYS 10 software, which is an integrated multi-user library Management system that supports all in-house operations of the library. The Modules of LIBSYS10 are Acquisition, Cataloguing, Circulation, Serials, Article Indexing, Web OPAC etc.

The Library has rich collection of 37900 books in Computer Science, Electronics, Civil Engineering and Social Science and Humanities in the form of text books, reference books and general reading and also 75 journals of both International and national repute in print.

  • The ID card is essential for availing all kinds of Library Service
  • Users should get the items duly issued at the circulation counter and collection them in person
  • Personal books, printed books, printed materials are not allowed inside the Library
  • The Library follows Open Access system
  • Readers may approach the Reference Desk for any information or assistance regarding the Library collection and services
  • Using WEB OPAC PC's for checking Emails and Personal use and mutilation of Books is strictly prohibited.
  • The Reference collection includes all kinds of handbooks, dictionaries, encyclopedias Conference Proceedings and course reference books are not for circulation

  • All issue and return of Library materials is handled from the Circulation Desk during its the Circulation counter from 10.00 am to 6.00 pm
  • No material from the Library should be taken out without proper issue/ recording. Any type of violation may lead to disciplinary action
  • Overdue Charge

    • An overdue charge of Rs. 1.00 per day per book will be collected for returning the books after the due date borrowed by them

    Loss of Book

    • Lost book should be replaced by a latest edition (new book) with overdue charges. In case the book is out of print or not available in the market then the double of the cost mentioned in the Accession register should be charged

    Book Reservation

    • User can reserve the book by using of OPAC service which is in circulation. Visit here click on My Account, @ "Enter User ID" Enter your roll number (ex: 2020101001) @ Enter Password (no need to give password) to find list of books checked out and reserve the book

    • The library provided to the users with modern reprographic service facility to the Faculty, students and staff members for print / Xerox of notes and other academic-related documents
